1. Catalog of Alternative Healing Methods
Dalma covers the costs for alternative healing methods, provided these are performed by a veterinarian or a specialist referred by a veterinarian.
The following methods are covered:
- Manual Therapies: Physiotherapy (within the framework of the veterinary fee schedule, e.g., exercise therapy), osteopathy, and chiropractic.
- Energetic & Alternative Therapies: Acupuncture, homeopathy, and phytotherapy.
Note: All treatments must be medically necessary and prescribed by a veterinarian.
2. Telemedicine & Digital Consultation (FirstVet)
Fully reimbursable: Costs for teleconsultations (FirstVet) are covered at 100% within the framework of the maximum annual benefit.
3. Dental Services
- Covered Surgery: Tooth extractions (pulling of teeth) and root canal treatments, provided they are medically necessary due to an illness or an accident.
- Diagnostics: Dental X-rays (digital/dental) as part of an insured treatment.
- Important Note: Treatments for periodontal disease, gingivitis, and FORL are subject to a specific waiting period of 12 months.
4. Behavioral Therapy
- Scope: Reimbursement of up to 5 hours per insurance year (only in illness protection).
- Condition: The therapy must serve the investigation or treatment of a disorder in the relationship between human and animal and be prescribed by a veterinarian.
- Exclusion: Temperament tests for classifying the dangerousness of dogs are not reimbursable.
5. Prostheses & Implants
One-time Grant: Dalma grants a subsidy of up to €500 for the provision of prostheses or implants (implantology). This amount is a one-time limit per insured animal.
6. Assistance Services in Emergencies
- Pet Boarding: In the event of the owner's hospitalization (longer than 3 nights), up to €250 will be covered for the accommodation of the animal.
- Transport: Costs for emergency transport to the nearest veterinary clinic are covered.
